Hi there, fellow coxie.

I’m Christa. Whether you are a varsity coxie, or a coxie-to-be, welcome!

Before you give me a call, let me introduce myself.

I was a coxswain for 9 years. I first tested out the waters (pun intended) at a Learn-to-Row program before high school. I fell in love with the sport instantly.

I coxed for my high school team for all eight seasons over the course of four years.

I was recruited by the University of Notre Dame Women’s Rowing Program, a Division I team.

After I graduated and my four years of glory on a Division I team had come to an end, I enrolled in law school.  But I missed the sport endlessly. I stayed involved, helping coxswain friends who called for guidance, who wanted to talk strategy, or who were simply in need of a confidence-boost.

My mother, aunt, sisters, and cousins were all coxswains. Not to mention, I had wonderful and supportive coaches along the way.

Before my coxing days had even begun, I was immersed in the rowing world. I can recall when I was in middle school sitting in the backseat of a car outside an ice-cream parlor. My older sister, a novice coxswain at the time, was playing her tape for her mentor, a former college coxswain. With the recording playing, I listened to her voice boom over the rain pouring outside the car. I was enthralled.

Years later, as a member of the Notre Dame Rowing Team, I found myself sitting on a bench with a former college coxswain. She was listening to my tapes, offering me advice.

So now it comes full-circle. Every time I sit with a fellow coxswain to offer support, I can’t help but think of these moments. I had a team behind me every stroke of the way, pushing me towards my coxing goals.

It takes a team to succeed. Let me join your team.

Give me a call.
